The best place to find them is Istiklal Caddesi, a long street where you have fancy, expensive shops, upper-class restaurants, teahouses. It's very modern and picturesque at the same time, especially if you go to see the fish market and some of the taverns behind the Flower Passage. And at one end of the street there's the symbol of the modern part of the city, Taksim Square.
