Turkish & Islamic Arts Museum (Istanbul)

Posted 1 year ago by wshopper in response to avatar catalina's question: Maybe some consider visiting a museum as being something boring... but i like it. Which museums from Istanbul are on top? (give a different answer) .

In Sultanahmet on the west side of the Hippodrome the Turkish & Islamic Arts Museum houses a fine collection of art and ethnography. It's very old, dating from the 16th century being initially the palace of Suleyman the Magnificent's vizier. I think I paid 3euor to get inside. It is open daily between 09:30am-5:00pm except Mondays.
